SMI Spon REGULAR — ZHG705010

Haemostatic products

SMI Spon REGULAR — ZHG705010 is an absorbable haemostatic gelatin sponge made from highly purified gelatin; this version measures 70 × 50 × 10 mm. It stops bleeding quickly when applied to a bleeding surface, absorbs 30 to 40 times its own weight in blood and fluids, can be cut to any size and does not stick to gloves or instruments. It can be applied dry or soaked in sterile physiological saline, is biocompatible and non-pyrogenic, and is completely absorbed within 3 to 4 weeks. SMI lists its use in dental, plastic, vascular, orthopaedic, ENT, abdominal, anorectal, genito-urinary and gynaecological surgery and in neurosurgery. Gamma-sterilised and individually blister-packed. SMI AG (Belgium) is a manufacturer of surgical sutures that also supplies speciality surgical products and complies with EN ISO 13485.
