MVE

CryoShipper

Cryogenic transport

The MVE CryoShipper is a vapor-phase (dry) shipper for transporting biological samples at −150 °C or colder. A hydrophobic absorbent inside the aluminium vessel holds the liquid nitrogen, so samples travel in nitrogen vapor without free liquid. Used with MVE's recommended protective shipping container, it can be shipped internationally as exempt from IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (Special Provision A152). The manufacturer lists a liquid-nitrogen capacity of 8.5 L and a static holding time of 10 days. MVE Biological Solutions (USA), formerly part of Chart Industries and now part of the Cryoport group, manufactures liquid-nitrogen dewars, vapor shippers and freezers for cryopreservation.
