MVE

CryoSystem 6000

Cryogenic storage

The MVE CryoSystem 6000 is an aluminium liquid-nitrogen dewar from the MVE CryoSystem series for storing cryovials in boxes on racks. It holds 6 racks with 10 boxes per rack, for up to 6,000 × 1.2/2.0 ml vials (100 vials per box). The manufacturer lists a liquid-nitrogen capacity of 175 L without inventory (150 L with inventory), a static evaporation rate of 0.99 L/day and a working duration of about 104 days. Automatic liquid-nitrogen filling and temperature monitoring with the TEC3000 controller are features of the separate CryoSystem 6000 Full Auto version. MVE Biological Solutions (USA), formerly part of Chart Industries and now part of the Cryoport group, manufactures liquid-nitrogen dewars, vapor shippers and freezers for cryopreservation.
