MVE

XC 32/8

Cryogenic storage

The MVE XC 32/8 is an aluminium liquid-nitrogen dewar from the MVE XC series for storing samples such as semen and embryo straws and cryovials in liquid nitrogen. It holds 9 canisters (279 mm high, Ø 67 mm) with a total capacity of 2,520 × 0.5 ml straws on canes (10 per cane), 3,960 × 0.5 ml straws in single-level bulk or 855 × 1.2/2.0 ml vials (5 per cane). The manufacturer lists a liquid-nitrogen capacity of 32 L, a static evaporation rate of 0.35 L/day and a normal working duration of about 57 days. MVE Biological Solutions (USA), formerly part of Chart Industries and now part of the Cryoport group, manufactures liquid-nitrogen dewars, vapor shippers and freezers for cryopreservation.
